In this characteristic Chameleon Bar & Dining mirrors its namesake - we source local produce for our kitchens and include local and regional favourites on our menus. We employ local staff, and our decor and exteriors are sympathetic to their environments.

But we differ from the chameleon in one significant way - our outlets stand out within their surroundings for their exceptional quality and individual personalities.

Chameleon Bar & Dining operates outlets in Yorkshire and Lancashire. Most are food-led and each has a comprehensive selection of beers, wines, ciders and soft drinks to quench eager thirsts.

Each outlet is run by a charismatic manager with their own unique flair and entrepreneurial spirit. The Chameleon operational management model ensures that the individual managers are empowered to run each outlet as if it were their own, but within guidelines to achieve the benefits of consistency and best practice across the whole group.

Greaves Park Among TripAdvisor Top-Performing Ten Percent

Greaves Park Bar & Dining in Lancaster is among the top-performing 10 per cent of worldwide businesses listed on traveller review website TripAdvisor® – and the popular venue has received a Certificate of Excellence award to prove it.

The prestigious accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor and is extended to qualifying businesses throughout the world. They must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, and have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

Greaves Park general manager Anthony Parker said: “This is fantastic news! Any award such as this that’s been initiated by reviews left voluntarily by our customers holds immense value and I’m so proud of our whole team. We strive to offer our customers a memorable experience and here’s the evidence that we’re achieving exactly that.”
Pub Beer Naming Competition Winner Announced

“I’d like a pint of Wafley Mouse please.” That’s what they’ll be saying from now on at The Halfway House Bar and Dining on Otley Road, between Baildon and Shipley. ‘Wafley Mouse’ is the competition-winning name for a brand new beer added to the hand pump line-up at the popular bar.

The name was submitted by Mary Wood from Barwick-in-Elmet when The Halfway House launched a competition in December to name the new beer. Customers from far and wide put their thinking caps on to come up with a suitable name and manager Adam Cohen and his team were really impressed with the entries. “Some were serious, some were clever, some were quirky and some were just ridiculous!” he joked.

The beer has been developed by the expert team at Naylor’s Brewery in Cross Hills. It’s mid-brown in colour and made from a blend of three malts and two hops. The bitterness is well-balanced and it has a hoppy aftertaste.

With origin of food very much in the headlines at the moment, we want to reassure our customers that our ‘field to plate’ ethos is truly well ingrained across the Chameleon Bar & Dining group

We source most of our produce from suppliers local to each outlet to ensure traceability of the ingredients for our popular menus and everything is cooked fresh to order.

Chameleon manager director Phil Strong said: “If you continue to drive price down and down then you reach a point where you can no longer deliver quality. Chameleon outlets have never been and will never be the cheapest because quality comes at a price. We’ve based our entire business for twelve years on delivering delicious, wholesome food that offers value for money and we will continue to do this for many years to come.”
Top Marks For Taste At Two Lancaster Pubs

The Taste Lancashire Highest Quality Assured award has been awarded to Greaves Park in the heart of Lancaster and The Keys at Slyne in recognition of their locally sourced, seasonal menus.

Greaves Park was particularly praised for its staff, who were ‘well versed on produce origins’ and offer ‘plenty of warm hospitality’. The Keys was recognised as serving ‘a high standard of cuisine’ to diners who are ‘made to feel relaxed’.

Manager of Greaves Park, Anthony Parker, said: “Since my wife and I took over Greaves Park two years ago, we have adopted a ‘field to plate’ ethos that ensures the quality and content of our food is something to be proud of. We source locally and everything is cooked to order. So to receive the Highest Quality Assured award is a real testament to all our hard work.”
